Erin Moriarty Shares New BTS Photos as Annie Is Preparing for Her “Vengeance Phase”
The fifth and final season of The Boys has been in production since last November. Erin Moriarty, who plays Annie January, also known as Starlight, recently shared some behind-the-scenes photos from the set (link below).
Although these pictures don’t give away much, one image shows Moriarty filming a scene, hinting that Starlight might be stepping into her ‘vengeance era.’
In the season 4 finale, Starlight and Billy Butcher were the only ones who managed to avoid being captured by Homelander’s forces. Based on the latest set photos (sadly, there is no embed link, so here is a direct link to the profile), it seems likely that Starlight, now stronger than ever, will take charge in rescuing her teammates.
With Butcher focused on his mission to eliminate all Supes, Starlight could be the key to bringing the team back together.
Eric Kripke, the showrunner, shared in an interview with Collider that the scripts for the season are still being written. He mentioned that it’s normal for changes to be made up until the last minute, sometimes even on the day of filming.
Kripke also spoke to TV Guide about the upcoming season, hinting that not everyone will survive. ‘Anyone who dies in season 5 will richly deserve it,’ he said, suggesting a mix of planned and flexible outcomes for the characters.
The series has deviated significantly from the comics, where most of the characters meet grim fates. While it’s likely that both Butcher and Homelander will face their ends, there’s a strong chance that Butcher’s storyline will include some form of redemption before the curtain falls.
