Fans Rank the Top 10 Most Popular Actors Right Now — Marvel & DC Stars Dominate the List

Recently, Ranker conducted a large survey to identify the most popular actors of the moment. Given the significance of this list, we’re excited to share the results, presenting the top 10 actors ranked from 10th to 1st place, offering our insights and commentary to enrich the discussion. We hope you enjoy it!

10. Tom Holland

It’s easy to see why Tom Holland is featured on this list. As the current Spider-Man in the MCU, his role alone secures him a spot among the top 10 most popular actors right now. His well-known relationship with Zendaya also adds to his visibility and appeal.

Although he hasn’t yet found the same level of success in non-MCU projects, he continues to explore new opportunities. Once he transitions away from the Spider-Man character, we hope he’ll be able to maintain his position on this list.

9. Keanu Reeves

Without a doubt, Keanu Reeves deserves a spot on this list, and we’d argue he should be ranked even higher.

While his current popularity is largely thanks to the John Wick franchise, Reeves has an impressive filmography that includes iconic roles in The Matrix series, My Own Private Idaho, and Speed, among others. Additionally, his reputation as a genuinely kind person has earned him immense affection from fans, further contributing to his popularity.

8. Will Smith

Honestly, we believe this choice is a significant misstep. Will Smith was a beloved figure over a decade ago, but his public relationship with Jada Pinkett Smith and the subsequent revelations have led to a decline in his popularity.

This all reached a peak with the infamous Oscars incident. Given these circumstances, we feel he doesn’t deserve a spot in the top 10. What about Samuel L. Jackson instead?

7. Morgan Freeman

This selection is undoubtedly well-deserved. While Morgan Freeman may not be as active in recent years, his illustrious career speaks volumes.

The legendary actor has delivered countless memorable performances, and out of respect for his remarkable body of work, we won’t enumerate them here. Although he may not be in the spotlight as much as before, his legacy endures, and it’s more than enough for us to wholeheartedly support his place on this list—Freeman truly is a legend.

6. Ryan Reynolds

There’s no denying that Ryan Reynolds is popular. While he may not be everyone’s favorite—and neither is his wife—Reynolds has a substantial global fanbase.

Though Deadpool is certainly the role that has elevated him the most, he has also delivered memorable performances in various other films. While we might not personally place him here, we can agree that his inclusion on this list is well-deserved, so we won’t complain about it.

5. Chris Hemsworth

We wholeheartedly agree with the inclusion of Chris Hemsworth. Like Tom Holland, he’s primarily recognized for his role in the MCU, but he has also taken on a variety of action and comedy roles outside of it. Hemsworth has successfully built a solid career for himself, which justifies his place on this list. While we might not have ranked him fifth, we wouldn’t make significant changes either.

4. Dwayne Johnson

The Rock at fourth place? That might have been justifiable five or six years ago, but now? He doesn’t even belong in the top 10! His recent projects, particularly Black Adam, have underperformed, and his attempt to take control of the DCU has alienated many fans, not to mention his controversial political comments.

Similar to Will Smith, we believe Dwayne Johnson no longer deserves a spot on this list, and we could easily suggest several alternatives, such as Timothée Chalamet or Glen Powell.

3. Johnny Depp

Oh boy… we’re conflicted about this one. There’s no denying that Johnny Depp is a true icon and has demonstrated his talent on numerous occasions.

However, he’s also one of Hollywood’s most controversial figures, and his recent court battle with Amber Heard has had negative repercussions for both of them. While we wouldn’t rank him third anymore, we do believe he deserves an honorable mention among the top 10 out of respect for his legacy.

2. Leonardo DiCaprio

Leonardo DiCaprio is undoubtedly deserving of this recognition. He is a Hollywood legend, despite some controversy surrounding his personal life. Nonetheless, that hasn’t affected his popularity. DiCaprio has consistently demonstrated his ability to take on the most complex roles and has a keen eye for exceptional projects. This is a listing we wholeheartedly support.

1. Robert Downey Jr.

Honestly, if it weren’t for this summer’s incredible reveal, Robert Downey Jr. might not have topped this list. However, after everything that’s transpired, he truly deserves this recognition.

He is a versatile and talented actor capable of handling any role—even multiple characters in a single project—and he’s also a genuinely great person. We fully support this ranking.
