Fans Rank All Star Wars Live-Action Shows
Star Wars is a pretty massive franchise that’s been brought to various forms of media, most notably movies. But it’s also been expanded into shows and video games. While the animated shows still outnumber the live-action shows, since Disney acquired Lucasfilm this started changing.
Today we’re going to check out Ranker, a popular site where fans rank pretty much everything in order to determine which live-action Star Wars shows are the best. Keep in mind that the list i subject to change and the list might not reflect the most up-to-date state of votes on the site.
6. ‘Star Wars: The Acolyte’
‘The Acolyte’ is the latest entry in the Star Wars franchise is the show is highly controversial. It’s subject to both review-boosting and review-bombing so we will likely have to wait some time to objectively appraise the show. Honestly, it’s not surprising that’s currently being considered as the worst live-action show, it’s still ongoing and we are yet to see how everything will develop.
5. ‘The Book of Boba Fett’
‘The Book of Boba Fett’ is ‘The Mandalorian’ spinoff, and generally, it wasn’t all that well-received by the fans. Many critics commented how the show has ended the way it started “as a mess.” Considering that it’s still used as a reference for a bad Star Wars show, this ranking is quite high.
4. ‘Ahsoka’
‘Ahsoka’ premiered relatively recently to a decent critical reception. Some aspects of the show were criticized like the fact that Sabine Wren managed to survive a seemingly impossible lightsaber wound and the fact that she is a Jedi despite having little to no connection to the force. However, the inclusion of Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker who finally finished Ahsoka’s training was one of the best moments in the franchise so the show has seen medium success among the fans.
3. Obi-Wan Kenobi
‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ was a highly anticipated show and one of the most streamed shows at the time of its release. Still, fans found ways to be disappointed with it. Fans disliked this portrayal of Kenobi and “action sequences.” Lucas himself said at that time that ‘Kenobi’ is his favorite miniseries, and it seems that fan rankings support it!
2. ‘Andor’
‘Andor’ is a ‘Rogue One’ prequel, a movie lauded as the best Star Wars movie in recent years. With Gilroy’s involvement ‘Andor’ quickly became a highly-rated show. ‘Andor’ was acclaimed as one of the top TV series of 2022, lauded for its departure from other Star Wars shows.
1. ‘The Mandalorian’
‘The Mandalorian’ is one of the best things to come out of Disney’s Star Wars. The show’s high production values, including impressive special effects and cinematography, contributed to its cinematic feel and immersive world-building, something that fans definitely appreciated. Characters like Grogu became cultural phenomena, generating widespread interest and affection beyond traditional Star Wars fandom, so it’s not surprising that the show managed to rank in the number one spot!
