Fans React to Josh Brolin Reportedly Being Cast as Hal Jordan, and It’s Not Good…

Recently, one major rumor dropped that Josh Brolin is shifting his attention from MCU to the DCU. The actor is in recent years best known for portraying the main villain of the first few phases Thanos, and portraying Cable in ‘Deadpool 2.’

Now if several industry insiders are to be believed, Brolin’s next project might be in the rival DCU as the actor has reportedly been cast as Hal Jordan in the upcoming ‘Lanterns’ TV Show, a show focusing on three notable ‘Lanterns,’ Guy Gardner, Hal Jordan and John Stewart.

The rumor aligns with some previous rumors related to the show how the showrunners will be looking for an older actor as Hal Jordan in the show will be an older mentor-type figure. While Brolin fits the role of an older, cockier Hal Jordan perfectly, fans aren’t convinced.

Such big news regarding superhero casting always lands with an overwhelming amount of reactions, in this case, they are mostly mixed I have to admit.

It’s hard to find a reaction that is mostly positive and not mixed as most fans are focused on the fact that Brolin might be too old to play Hal. It was previously reported that DC studios was looking for white actors aged 43-49 to portray Hal Jordan, which is a bit “pushing it” when it comes to the character’s age, however, Josh Brolin is much older than that.

Casting such an older Hal brings potential bad news, that the character might be “killed-of” early, since it would be quite difficult for Brolin to continue playing action roles 10-15 years from now, and remember Gunn is starting a cinematic universe, the likes that might last decades from now, like MCU.
