Fans Respond to Reddit User’s Brilliant Proposal for ‘X-Men’ Recasting!

The MCU will soon officially introduce the Mutants into its narrative. This news isn’t new; fans have anticipated it since Disney acquired Fox, which is why they’re eager for updates.

While Mutants have appeared in several MCU films, the X-Men have not yet made their debut. Although it may take some time before they do, fans have been promised a significant moment in the future.

We believe that Feige and Marvel are committed to getting this right. While details remain scarce, the X-Men’s entrance into the MCU will be monumental and will shape the franchise for years to come.

As a result, fans are buzzing with speculation about potential casting for the X-Men characters. While it’s been hinted that Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart might reprise their roles in the MCU, other characters remain a mystery.

One particularly intriguing fan casting suggestion has emerged for Kitty Pryde/Shadowcat, who was originally portrayed by Elliot Page in the early X-Men films before the actor’s transition.

Shadowcat is a captivating character in the films and one of the more intriguing members of the X-Men, offering significant narrative potential. She appeared in all three original movies as well as Days of Future Past.

The character was initially portrayed by Sumela Kay and Katie Stuart, who played younger versions, before Elliot Page (credited as Ellen Page at the time) took over the role in The Last Stand and Days of Future Past.

You might recall that a solo movie focusing on Shadowcat was once in the works but was ultimately scrapped following Disney’s acquisition of Fox.

Despite this, we believe Shadowcat has a promising future in the MCU. Reddit user NoChallenge6095 has suggested casting Mary Elizabeth Winstead as an older version of the character:

We’re confident that Winstead can excel in this role, as she has showcased an impressive range throughout her career. I doubt they will cast a 40 year old Kitty, but if they want to cast her as Jean Grey it would work.

I’m looking forward to how they recast her, but come on, it’s Kitty for gods sake. Unless they jump to her Kate era they’ve got to cast a significantly younger actress. Maybe for some sort of DoFP remake though because they clearly can’t recast the former actress.
