10. ‘Deadpool’ (2016) (8731 Votes)

The first ‘Deadpool’ movie gained massive attention for several reasons. First, it was a departure from typical superhero movies, featuring action, comedy, and irreverence.

The film’s R-rating allowed for a more mature and unrestricted portrayal of the character being more in tune with what the adults wanted. Ryan Reynolds’ portrayal of Deadpool was widely praised, with most fans noticing that he was seemingly born to play the character.

Despite being a comedy, one with nasty humor at that, ‘Deadpool’ was decent enough that it managed to score extraordinarily high on the list that features more than 160 movies.

9. ‘Iron Man’ (2008) (15907 Votes)

The movie that started it all…now 16 years later MCU features more than 30 movies. The movie also revitalized Rober Downey Jr.’s career and placed him once again on the top spot as Hollywood’s sweetheart.

8. ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ (2017) (15910 Votes)

Thor Ragnarok

No one could have predicted that Taika Waititi would give us one of the best and the worst MCU movies of all time. ‘Ragnarok’ was the perfect mix of heartfelt storytelling, action, and comedy, it managed to revitalize Thor’s franchise which was up to that point marked with mediocre movies at best.

7. ‘Captain America: Civil War’ (2016) (17846 Votes)

‘Civil War’ is the gold standard as far as MCU movies go. ‘Captain America: Civil War’ was celebrated for its impressive execution and ability to deliver an engaging superhero blockbuster while still exploring complex moral dilemmas. It’s also the first MCU movie that dared to pit superheroes against each other.

6. ‘Logan’ (2017) (17928 Votes)

Wolverine appeared in a ton of projects, and he’s also bound to return once again in the upcoming ‘Deadpool & Wolverine,’ but the best movie featuring the character by far is James Mangold’s ‘Logan.’ The movie was lauded for its emotional depth, violent yet thoughtful portrayal of superhero action, and its departure from genre conventions.

5. ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ (2014) (17978 Votes)

‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ was considered good for several reasons. Critics praised its suspenseful and politically astute storyline, along with its superior execution within the Avengers canon.

The film was commended for its reduction of CGI spectacle in favor of hard-driving old-school action, character development, and suspenseful moments. The movie is frequently compared to the ‘Metal Gear Solid’ video-game franchise and its themes of sacrificing personal liberties for a sense of security.

4. ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ (2014) (18144 Votes)

Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 Suspended

‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ being so high honestly surprised me, but Gunn managed to do something truly amazing with the team – he managed to transform Z-list characters into a billion-dollar franchise.

3. ‘The Avengers’ (2012) (186799 Votes)

The most ambitious crossover of all time. Critics appreciated the development and interaction between the characters, which felt genuine and well-fleshed out despite the fantastical setting.

‘The Avengers’ was considered a superior entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe due to its engaging script, strong performances, humor, and well-executed action sequences.

2. ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ (2018) (18731 Votes)

‘Infinity War’ managed to do something that superhero crossovers rarely pull off successfully. The film successfully managed a huge ensemble of Marvel characters, giving each hero and heroine their moment to shine without making the story feel overcrowded or confusing.

The film’s ending, which left many characters’ fates uncertain, was compared to the cliffhanger of ‘The Empire Strikes Back.’ It’s truly one of the high points of the MCU.

1. ‘The Dark Knight’ (2008) (22373 Votes)

‘The Dark Knight’ is the only DC movie on this list but also the highest-ranked movie. ‘The Dark Knight’ had a profound impact on the superhero genre and filmmaking in general. It set a new standard for what superhero movies could achieve in terms of storytelling, character complexity, and thematic exploration.

The movie also gave us the best live-action Joker, pushing the character even further into the mainstream.
