As many know, Blade is one of Marvel Studios’ most anticipated projects, set to bring the iconic antihero into the MCU. Oscar-winner Mahershala Ali is cast in the title role, with Mia Goth playing Lilith. Beyond this, details about the project are still emerging.
While we await the debut of the MCU’s Blade, the original Blade—Wesley Snipes—made a notable return in Deadpool & Wolverine. His cameo brought him back to one of his most famous roles, and, as expected, fans are thrilled to see Snipes reprise his role.
While reassurances about Mahershala Ali’s Blade movie continue, fans are already speculating about a potential backup plan. Should the project falter, many are advocating for Wesley Snipes to return as Blade. The Internet is buzzing with calls for the MCU to bring back the original Blade actor.
In case you weren’t aware, Wesley Snipes makes a return in Deadpool & Wolverine, portraying an older version of Blade, a role he originally played in three films nearly two decades ago. Snipes has now set the Guinness World Record for the “longest career as a live-action Marvel character,” having reprised the role “25 years and 340 days after first appearing as Blade in Blade (1998).” Fans are thrilled by his comeback and are now rallying for Snipes to fully return to the role.
Ultimately, this scenario seems unlikely, as Snipes himself has indirectly confirmed recently. However, fans are still holding out hope.
