One of the most exciting upcoming projects bound to be released in the next few years as part of the MCU is definitely ‘Fantastic Four.’ The movie’s true title was revealed during this year’s SDCC and now we know that it’s going to be titled ‘First Steps.’

Based on previous speculations and confirmation that came during the Hall H panel, we know that the team will already be established in the movie as ‘First Steps’ is not going to be an origin story for the characters.

It’s also been confirmed once again that the film won’t be set on Earth-616, it’s going to be set in an alternate retro-futuristic reality in the ’60. Matt Shakman revealed he aims to make the Fantastic Four’s powers feel real by consulting scientists and animal experts. The film will feature a futuristic version of the 1960s setting and aesthetic, presenting New York as “what you’ve seen from the 60s and something more.

During the presentation video was also showcased, and it’s been subsequently leaked online. Since Disney is sending copyright notices left and right the only way to present you with what was seen during SDCC is to bring you the commentary video. Note: as this footage is being taken down rapidly, we have different videos & images for you:

The footage, shot in a 4:3 aspect ratio to look like retro television, begins with Reed Richards (Pedro Pascal) teaching a class and asking if they want to see an explosion. The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) appears as a silhouette on the dating show “Let’s Make a Match.” The team is then shown in astronaut suits with their last names on them, boarding a retro-futuristic rocket. As the rocket takes off, the aspect ratio changes. The footage concludes with Galactus’ comic-accurate face partially visible behind a building.

a YouTube creator Thomas Luque has already recreated a theme that could be heard during the presentation, and it’s seriously awesome:

During the presentation, the team was also confirmed to appear in ‘Avengers: Doomsday.’ Are you getting excited for the movie? Let us know in the comments below!
