Only a few weeks stand between us and ‘Deadpool & Wolverine.’ The movie is highly anticipated for several reasons, primarily due to being MCU’s first “R” rated movie. The trailers already showcased plenty of violence and adult language.
Recently we’ve learned that pretty much everything was on the table regarding “R” rated content, except for drugs, something that Feige cleared up was allowed as well but wasn’t particularly funny in his opinion.
In his most recent interview, Feige cleared up some things regarding “pegging” which is often referenced in the Deadpool franchise, and he surprised us with his comment that he had to explain it to some of the team members since they had no idea what it means:
There’s a line in the red-band trailer — you don’t have to write this in the article, for crying out loud! — about pegging. I know what pegging is — it’s in the first ‘Deadpool’ movie. But there were people I work with who didn’t know what it was. I had to explain it to them.
I’m not going to explain what pegging is since we’re not that kind of site, and you likely already know what it is, but it’s certainly interesting to see it mentioned in something with the Disney logo on it.
Despite being a family-oriented franchise, times are indeed changing and the MCU is slowly but surely stepping into adult-oriented content which both future movies and shows reflect.
‘Echo’ was the first R-rated MCU show, and it’s bound to be followed by several other projects including the animated show ‘Marvel Zombies.’ As for the staff members who had no idea what pegging is, that was certainly one helluva work conversation.
