Filmmaker Uwe Boll is back with a new action-packed vigilante thriller, ‘The Dark Knight,’ starring Armie Hammer as a man who takes justice into his own hands. The film, currently shooting in Zagreb, Croatia, has also added Costas Mandylor (‘Saw’ franchise) to the cast. Along with this announcement, the production team has released a first-look image from the film, giving fans a glimpse of what’s to come.

In ‘The Dark Knight,’ Hammer plays Sanders, a man who goes rogue and begins hunting down criminals himself. Mandylor takes on the role of Interpol officer Henry, the man tasked with stopping him. This sets up an intense game of cat and mouse, with two strong-willed characters on opposite sides of the law.

Boll is excited about the casting, saying

“We’re very happy to add Costas Mandylor to our cast, who is playing Interpol officer Henry. To see him acting opposite Armie Hammer is truly a pleasure.”

This is not the first time Costas Mandylor has worked with Uwe Boll. He previously starred in Boll’s last film, ‘Run,’ where he played a mob boss alongside Amanda Plummer, James Russo, and Ulrich Thomsen. ‘Run’ recently finished post-production and is currently in talks for a U.S. release.

Michael Roesch, an executive producer on ‘The Dark Knight,’ spoke highly of Mandylor’s performance, saying:

“We already enjoyed working with Costas on our last movie Run and couldn’t be happier to have him back. His vibrant performance adds so much to the movie.”

Mandylor has been staying busy with recent roles in Brian Skiba’s ‘Gunslingers’ (alongside Nicolas Cage), Jacob Richardson’s ‘The Aegean,’ and Robert LaSardo’s ‘American Trash.’

Boll is not stopping with just the movie—he’s taking ‘The Dark Knight’ into the gaming world. Polygon Art, a well-known game developer, is on board to create a video game based on the film. This move could bring ‘The Dark Knight’ to a wider audience, blending Boll’s experience in video game adaptations with his latest original story.

Even though The Dark Knight is still filming in Croatia, post-production has already started at Tunnel Post in Santa Monica. Boll’s longtime editor, Ethan Maniquis (First Shift, Run), is currently working on the film’s first cut, ensuring a fast turnaround once shooting wraps.

Meanwhile, Boll and Roesch’s previous film, First Shift, starring Gino Anthony Pesi and Kristen Renton, has been a hit on Paramount+, staying in the Top 5 for weeks. If that success is any indication, The Dark Knight could attract a large audience when it finally releases.
