‘Star Wars: Skeleton Crew’ is the name of an upcoming live-action series that will expand the Star Wars universe. The series is currently scheduled for a 2024 premiere on Disney+ and was created by the duo consisting of Jon Watts and Christopher Ford.
The show recently got a massive release update, being scheduled for a December 2024, release. It will consist of 8 episodes and will premiere on Disney+.
The cast of the show was known for quite a bit at this point, and now, thanks to the merchandise photos we finally have a first look at the main characters.
The image comes from Star Wars Limited Edition Skeleton Crew Ingot, and showcases the costumed cast of the show.
Jude Law will be taking on the role of an unnamed Force-user. Other actors have been revealed for the show, including Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Robert Timothy Smith, Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Kyriana Kratter, Tunde Adebimpe, Kerry Condon, and Jaleel White, though their specific roles have not been disclosed.
The series will follow a group of children, most likely Force-sensitive, who will have to go on an adventure if they want to return to their home planet, from which they got lost after a strange discovery. The children will most likely be chaperoned by Jude Law’s character. He will be the one to find the kids and guide them on their adventure, serving as both a guardian and a mentor figure to the youngest characters.
The story will feature a lot of similarities with children’s classics such as ‘The Goonies,’ but will be watchable for both children and adults, as there will be a similar element to the hit series ‘The Mandalorian,’ which also features an adult (Din Djarin) taking care of a baby (Grogu).
