Florence Pugh Is Out Of Line But Correct – Black Widow Can Take Down Spider-Man, And It Happened Before

Share:

Black Widow and Spider-Man are among the most notable Marvel characters, and as such their popularity transferred well to the big screen. While it’s seen as rare, the two did get into a fight on several occasions.

By all logic, Spider-Man takes this fight easily. At the end of the day, no matter how skilled and cunning Black Widow is she is no more than an enhanced human, while Spider-Man is superhuman with surprising strength, speed, and a plethora of other superpowers.

Recently, Florence Pugh who portrays Yelena Belova, the new Black Widow in the MCU, and Andrew Garfield, who portrayed Spider-Man in three movies, sat down on LADbible TV and discussed who would win in a fight.

Florence Pugh claims that her Black Widow would have no trouble taking down Spider-Man, mostly beacuse she is mean and he is nice. This argument seems silly but it’s not unusual to use in an argument when we have two characters with vastly different power levels.

In fact, Antony Starr recently claimed that his Homelander can take down Superman at any time purely due to the fact that Superman wouldn’t fight dirty while Homelander is evil and has no moral qualms.

In any case, Garfield disagreed, likely aware of how much more powerful his character is than Black Widow.

Pugh is out of line, and under normal circumstances, her character would get steamrolled by Spider-Man, but she is not completely wrong, as in the comics Natasha Romanoff did manage to take down Peter Parker.

In ‘Amazing Spider-Man’ #86 Black Widow wants to find a way to combine her own powers with the powers of Spider-Man.

Black Widow sets out to find Spider-Man to prove who is better and she ultimately finds him but Peter is not feeling like himself. He has been groggy and ill the whole evening which means he is not at 100% during the fight.

Spider-Man is ambushed by Black Widow, and they engage in a short battle where she gains the upper hand and ties him up. However, Spider-Man breaks free and uses his webbing to jam her venom-sting bracelets. Just as he is about to take further action, Black Widow flees the scene.

Later that evening, Peter puts his blood under a microscope and realizes that his Spider-Man powers are fading, which is likely why Black Widow managed to defeat him.

Black Widow eventually stopped pursuing Peter and gave up on the idea of getting his powers. Realizing that her own skills are unique enough.

The match between Pugh’s Yelena Belova and Garfield’s Spider-Man is unlikely to take place in the MCU. But keep in mind that Pugh is reprising her role in ‘Thunderbolts*’ set to release next year and Garfield is rumored to appear in ‘Spider-Man 4’ and ‘Secret Wars.’

Keep in mind that anyone can lose if you catch them on a bad day, and if the writers will it! What do you think? Let us know in the comments below!
