Only a few days stand between us and the official start of the DCU which kicks off on December 5th with the release of ‘Creature Commandos’ After the first season of ‘Peacemaker,’ Amanda Waller can no longer risk human lives for her secret missions, like she did with the Suicide Squad and Team Peacemaker.
Instead, she creates a black ops team made up of monsters called the Creature Commandos, led by General Rick Flag Sr. All of these efforts are coordinated by A.R.G.U.S., an organization that Amanda Waller currently leads.
A.R.G.U.S. is a U.S. government agency that works with the CIA and FBI. It uses superpowered or skilled individuals to protect the country and address major threats.
Based on Frank Grillo’s recent comments, A.R.G.U.S. will see some changes over the course of the DCU, and it’s not only related to the logo that we’ve seen on the set of ‘Peacemaker’ Season 2.
Grillo recently sat down with Collider and was asked about his role in the DCU. The actor was compared to Agent Coulson of the MCU who had a prominent role in several installments. So far Grillo is set to appear in ‘Creature Commandos,’ Peacemaker’ and ‘Superman’ so this is where the comparison comes from:
You know I’ll go a step further and I get a little bit of a Sam Jackson vibe. […] It’s that kind of thing where he can swing through for a little bit in ‘Superman’ and you know have a kind of a critical and pivotal role, and then a bigger role in ‘Peacemaker,’ a very crucial role.
And then you know he is the leader of the team on ‘Creature Commandos’ so yeah, I mean, I don’t know what the future holds but I think Rick Flag is kind of the head of A.R.G.U.S. and so, you know like the MCU with Jackson.
You never know, It’s kind of endless.

This is not at all surprising considering we’ve speculated before that Grillo’s character will be extremely important for the DCU considering that he is now set to appear in almost all projects announced for release this year, and next year.
One question remains, however, how will Rick Flag fit into the ‘Waller’ show that’s recently gotten a development update by Gunn. The director claims that the show is still in very active development despite providing little updates on it.
What do you think about this comparison?
