‘Fantastic Four: First Steps’ is one of the most exciting MCU releases. The movie will introduce Marvel’s first family to the cinematic universe, following failed attempts to bring them to the big screen, well, depending on who you’re asking.
We know that the main cast of the movie, Pascal will be portraying Reed Richards, and Vanessa Kirby will be portraying Sue Storm. Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Joseph Quinn will star as Ben Grimm and Johnny Storm respectively.
Soon after the movie was announced rumors appeared that the movie would also feature Franklin and Valeria Richards, Sue’s and Reed’s children. Franklin will reportedly have some kind of a connection to Galactus (Ralph Ineson) as the child will reportedly be born in space.
Some recent set leaks truly show Vanessa Kirby holding a child in her hands, but it wasn’t confirmed by official sources whether that child truly is Franklin.
Now according to notable industry insider Daniel Richtman, Marvel Studios is currently looking for a 10-13-year-old actor to play Franklin in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ as he is set to play a major role in the upcoming ‘Avengers’ flick.
Franklin will reportedly be 4 years old in ‘First Steps’ indicating a time-jump between the two movies.
Now the following part is purely my speculation but if these rumors turn out to be true, it’s quite possible that Franklin Richards will be a key play in controlling and ultimately stopping incursions.
As one of the most powerful mutants (former) in existence, Franklin possesses vast reality-warping and cosmic powers. He helps rebuild the multiverse after it was destroyed during the incursions. This role makes him instrumental in restoring existence when all else has failed.
If we’re going by the comics, Franklin’s role in this multiversal chaos is quite obvious and clear, but it’s also possible that Doom might use his powers since Beyonder is currently not in the MCU.
