‘The Boys’ Season 4 recently aired and despite the initial backlash at the perceived wokeness it managed to break all the records as Amazon recently confirmed. We know that ‘The Boys’ universe is expanding at an unprecedented pace, several spinoffs are in development including the final season of the show.
Kripke already teased some of the things we can expect from the grand finale, and now Giancarlo Esposito, who plays Stan Edgar, teased an explosive finale for one of the most controversial shows.
Esposito recently talked to Deadline, commenting on his upcoming projects, ‘The Gentleman,’ ‘Megalopolis’ and ‘The Boys.’ ‘The Mandalorian’ star teased what appears to be a whirlwind season:
I think it’s going to be a whirlwind season,” he said. “Every show that comes to an end has an explosive ending in its final season, and The Boys is just such a very outrageous show, but also reflective of the world we live in now. When superheroes have the power to not only save us, but to harm us, that’s an interesting show.
Season 4 left the viewers in quite an uncomfortable place. Homelander and Sister Sage managed to take over the White House and are now planning their strikes on non-supes and The Boys.
Butcher rediscovers his hatred for supes and perhaps even for Ryan, Homelander for some reason wants to locate Soldier Boy, the only other supe who came close to beating him. The Boys are no more and it’s likely that the team won’t be able to reunite against as we know it. The results of the new supe coup will likely be visible as early as ‘Gen V’ season 2, as it’s expected that the show’s second season will at least partially continue the events we’ve seen in season 4 of The Boys.
