After co-starring with Pedro Pascal in ‘The Mandalorian,’ Gina Carano gained international fame with a role that suited her well in the series. However, her tenure at Disney came to an abrupt end when her character was rewritten and she was dismissed, sparking a lingering controversy.

The reasons behind Carano’s departure are widely known: her political and ideological beliefs clashed with Disney’s values, particularly her anti-woke stance and other controversial remarks. She has since pursued legal action against Disney, seeking reinstatement or compensation. Amidst this, Carano has not hesitated to publicly criticize her former employer, and another opportunity for confrontation has recently arisen.

The latest trigger for Gina Carano’s renewed criticism of Disney was the incident involving Kyle Gass, Jack Black’s bandmate from Tenacious D, who made an inappropriate joke regarding the recent assassination attempt on Donald Trump. Despite actions taken by both Black and Gass’ agent in response to the incident, Carano seized the opportunity to assert her presence and continue her vocal opposition against Disney, utilizing every opportunity to fire back at the company.

In summary, during a live concert, Kyle Gass made a joke about Trump’s assassination, urging the “next one” not to miss. Jack Black responded by canceling all upcoming gigs and taking a break from music, while Gass himself issued a public apology. The incident escalated into a global scandal in a politically divided country.

Adding to the controversy, Gina Carano seized upon the situation. Despite the incident having no connection to her or her previous remarks, she inserted herself into a narrative where she had no common ground with the individuals involved:

It’s clear she’s upset, but how does this relate? Comparing herself to a Holocaust victim because Disney didn’t support her views is a stretch. Equating genocide with bigotry is nonsensical, especially if she’s playing victim afterward.

Equally puzzling is Rob Smith’s comment below. Jack Black didn’t make the statement; it was his bandmate. So why attack him? If someone near Carano and Smith made a pro-woke statement, would that make them woke too? Unlikely. This comment seems like political propaganda lacking in common sense.

Secondly, why would studios issue a statement or react? Jack Black has worked with numerous studios, but the joke in question wasn’t made during any studio project. Kyle Gass isn’t employed by Disney or any studio, and Tenacious D’s tour wasn’t financed by a studio either. There’s no reason for studios to respond.

Thirdly, despite Jack Black not being responsible, he still apologized and condemned his bandmate’s comments, even halting all future Tenacious D projects in response. So, why continue to criticize him? He distanced himself from the remarks made in his presence. Isn’t that reasonable enough?

Despite all this, Gina Carano once again inserted herself into a situation where her involvement wasn’t expected or necessary. But why not, right? We’ll continue to monitor this story, so stay tuned for updates!
