Gina Carano is in recent times most notably known as Cara Dune, a pretty big character in the two first seasons of ‘The Mandalorian.’ The studio had seemingly big plans both for the actress and for her character, as she was at one point supposed to receive her own standalone show. But, everything changed due to a series of controversial social media posts in which Carano compared anti-vaxers to Jews, and after she touched upon other sensitive topics that aren’t quite in tune with modern sensibilities and the image that Disney is trying to maintain.

In a span of a few hours, Carano lost her spinoff and her job as she was fired by the studio. She learned this via the press. It’s evident that Carano still has forgiven the studio for the firing, and her reaction is reasonable. In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter Carano opened up regarding her first reaction to the firing and other issues:

I just laid down and cried and cried. I curled into a fetal position. It’s not that I didn’t think that something like that could happen. It was that I couldn’t imagine they would put out this horrendous statement about me after working with me — the most powerful entertainment company in the world saying that about me.

Carano learned a harsh lesson regarding the corporate world and the power of media and social networks. Carano sold her home in Hermosa Beach and bought an RV, going on a three-week cross-country journey to Nashville. There, she partnered with The Daily Wire. They hired her to star in and produce a film titled ‘Terror on the Prairie,’ directed by Michael Polish. The film premiered on The Daily Wire website on June 14, 2022. Despite online mockery over reported low earnings of $804, Carano clarified that the film was intended for direct distribution to Daily Wire subscribers, not theatrical release.

Then a month ago Carano decided to sue Disney over unlawful termination, a feat that Elon Musk will seemingly finance as he has a beef to settle with Disney in recent times, and there’s also the fact that he is a pretty strict advocate for free speech. Musk is in fact offering everyone who thinks that they were discriminated against based on their personal views by their company, financial support if they decided to search for legal means to settle their scores:

If you were unfairly treated by your employer due to posting or liking something on this platform, we will fund your legal bill. No limit.

Carano found herself supported by Musk even though she never directly communicated the issue with him:

I think it’s pretty incredible what he is doing. A lot of billionaires put their money into buying islands and building bunkers. Elon Musk is using his money to fight massive injustice battles.

How the legal battle will go, remains to be seen. What are your thoughts on the issue? Let us know in the comments below!
