Godzilla Is Ready to Face the X-Men This May

Marvel’s legendary mutants are stepping up to face The King of the Monsters in an explosive showdown. Godzilla vs. X-Men #1 is set to hit shelves on May 14, bringing a clash between two of the biggest forces in pop culture.

This comic comes from writer Fabian Nicieza, known for his work on X-Men and X-Force, with artwork by Emilio Laiso, who previously worked on Power Man: Timeless. The issue will feature a cover by Tony Daniel and multiple variant covers from Paolo Rivera, Mike McKone, Taurin Clarke, Nick Bradshaw, Chris Campana, Iban Coello, and Lee Garbett.

The story kicks off when a robotics company ends up angering a kaiju, putting the X-Men in the middle of a devastating attack. But is Godzilla really the villain here? The mutants are thrown into a fight that could put them on the wrong side of history, as humanity considers unleashing the deadly Sentinels to stop the destruction.

Nicieza, who grew up dreaming of writing Godzilla, couldn’t be more excited. ‘If you’d asked ten-year-old me what I’d do for this chance, I would have burned everything in my way to a crisp,’ he joked. ‘Mix in a “vs.” and an “X-Men,” and let’s just say, I love the smell of burning writer in the morning. It smells like victory!’

Expect massive destruction, mutant powers at full force, and a battle that will shake the Marvel Universe. With Godzilla on one side and the X-Men on the other, who will come out on top? Find out when Godzilla vs. X-Men #1 arrives this May.
