Grant Gustin, best known for playing Barry Allen in The CW’s The Flash, recently shared his thoughts on whether he would return for a reboot of the series. The Arrowverse officially came to an end in December 2024, with Superman & Lois season 4 marking the franchise’s final chapter. However, The Flash, which ran for nine seasons, was the last show from the Earth-Prime side of the Arrowverse to conclude.
During an appearance on Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum, Gustin was asked if he would be open to returning for a 10-episode Flash revival. While he didn’t give a definitive yes, he admitted he would love to return under the right circumstances.
“Yeah, of course, there’s a lot of things that I’d have to like ask… not for, but about. I’d be more interested in the [creative side],” Gustin said.
Although there are no official plans for a Flash sequel, Rosenbaum also asked if he would want to be involved as a producer. Gustin responded with, “maybe, yeah,” acknowledging that he had no creative input on the original show during its run.
Revivals and sequels have become more common, especially for long-running shows with dedicated fan bases. While The Flash season 9 provided a solid conclusion, Gustin’s openness to reprising his role suggests he still has a connection to the character. His interest in having creative involvement also hints that he would want a say in how Barry Allen’s story continues.
If a reboot were to happen, it would likely depend on other original cast members returning, particularly those who had been there from the beginning. Candice Patton’s Iris West-Allen would be a crucial part of any continuation, especially now that Barry and Iris are parents following the birth of Nora West-Allen in the series finale.
For now, there is no word on whether a Flash sequel will happen, as DC Studios is currently focused on shaping its new DC Universe. But with Gustin still open to donning the red suit again, the possibility remains.
