Is Halle Berry Teasing Her Storm Comeback in the MCU’s X-Men Reboot? It Seems So

With the release of ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ Feige himself stated that the era of mutants begins in the MCU. While the mutants and the X-Men were barely mentioned in the cinematic universe, we know that some big things are planned for some of the most notable characters in Marvel Comics.

Earlier this year it’s been confirmed that Michael Lesslie is currently penning down the script for the upcoming X-Men live-action reboot that is supposed to merge the team with the rest of the continuity.

According to some recent insider reports Lesslie apparently pitched ‘X-Men ’97’ roster for the upcoming movie, this means that MCU’s reboot would have the following team: Cyclops, Wolverine, Rogue, Storm, Beast, Gambit, Jubilee, Jean Grey, Professor X, Morph, Bishop, Magneto, Nightcrawler, and Sunspot.

We don’t know anything about the cast at this point but a lot of fans assumed that the mutants will be completely recast going for a much younger lineup, however, we can suspect that at least one mutant won’t be recast, Storm, played by Halle Berry. Berry played Storm for 10 years starting with ‘X-Men’ released in 2000 and ending with her final appearance in ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ released in 2014.

The actress recently sat down with Josh Wildling and talked about the possibility of her returning to the role once more, this time in the MCU:

Josh: We didn’t see you in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ but it looks like the X-Men could be in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ or ‘Secret Wars,’ so do you see a Storm brewing for those movies perhaps?

Berry: You never know! We’ll find out!

Wildling was correct that Berry was according to her own words very interested in reprising her role in the latest MCU flick, however, she wasn’t asked by Ryan Reynolds despite speaking to Blake Lively about it and confirming her interest.
