Hallmark Media has officially renewed Mistletoe Murders for a second season. The hit holiday mystery series stars Grey’s Anatomy alum Sarah Drew as Emily Lane, a small-town Christmas shop owner with a secret past.

The show also features Peter Mooney (Rookie Blue) as Detective Sam Wilner and Sierra Marilyn Riley as his daughter, Violet. Other cast members include Jean Yoon (Kim’s Convenience), Lara Amersey (Operation Nutcracker), and Kylee Evans (Good Witch).

Filming for Season 2 will begin later this year, with a planned premiere during the 2025 holiday season.

Hallmark’s Senior VP of Programming, Samantha DiPippo, shared her excitement about the renewal. She said the show perfectly combines Christmas and mystery, two fan-favorite genres. She also hinted that Season 2 will bring more surprises, especially after the shocking Season 1 finale.

Jocelyn Hamilton, President of Television at Lionsgate Canada, praised the show’s storytelling and strong audience response. She called the renewal a testament to the talented cast and creative team.

Mistletoe Murders follows Emily, the cheerful owner of Under the Mistletoe, a year-round Christmas store in Fletcher’s Grove. When mysterious murders happen in town, Emily can’t help but investigate. Her involvement raises questions for Detective Wilner, who begins to wonder if Emily has secrets of her own.

The series is based on an Audible Original starring Cobie Smulders and Raymond Ablack. It is produced by Lionsgate Canada and Headspinner Productions, with Lionsgate handling international distribution.

Fans can look forward to more holiday-themed mysteries when Mistletoe Murders returns in 2025!
