It’s Clear That the Only One Responsible for Henry Cavill’s Career Decline Is—Henry Cavill Himself!

As you may know, Henry Cavill is currently facing challenges in getting his career back on track, despite having a large fan base and being widely liked.

His time as Superman has come to an end, with James Gunn choosing to replace him with David Corenswet. Additionally, Liam Hemsworth has taken over his role in The Witcher franchise. Although he continues to find work, his career isn’t advancing as one might expect.

While The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare performed reasonably well, much of its success can be attributed to Guy Ritchie’s direction rather than Cavill’s performance. Meanwhile, Argylle was a dismal failure, and Cavill appears to have missed out on the role of James Bond, for which he was a strong contender.

As people search for reasons behind these setbacks, many fans have been quick to blame those around Cavill. However, it has become painfully clear that the primary person responsible for Cavill’s career struggles is Cavill himself.

Cavill’s troubles began quite some time ago, starting with The Witcher. Although the series was successful and Cavill was well-received as Geralt, he unexpectedly left the role.

This was reportedly due to his desire for more control over the show and inappropriate behavior towards his colleagues. This shocking turn of events ultimately contributed to the cancellation of The Witcher, marking the first indication that Cavill was facing significant challenges.

Then came the news about Superman. Despite the numerous issues within the DCEU, fans loved Cavill’s portrayal of Superman, and he became a key figure for the franchise.

Therefore, it was another shock when it was announced that he would not reprise his role as the Man of Steel in the DCU. While we can understand James Gunn’s desire to bring a fresh perspective to DC’s stories, take a look at this intriguing tweet:

Although the tweet is old, it highlights the issues with Cavill’s career choices. Not supporting the Snyder Cut was problematic, and his refusal to appear in Shazam!—only to later show up in Dwayne Johnson’s failed Black Adam project—complicated matters for him and impacted his credibility.

As a result, it seems he ultimately lost the chance to become James Bond, with his projects consistently failing one after another. It’s clear that Cavill himself is to blame; his behavior and decisions led to this predicament, and there’s not much more to be said about it.

As of now, the future of the Warhammer franchise is uncertain, so it remains to be seen how his upcoming Highlander reboot will fare.
