Here Are 5 MCU Projects We Want Revealed at SDCC

Share:

Last year’s San Diego Comic-Con was a sad affair in terms of MCU primarily due to the SAG-AFTRA strike that prohibited the actors and writers from promoting their movies.

Recently, we’ve gotten confirmation that Marvel Studios is returning to Hall H. As for what Marvel could be showing off, that’s still up in the air, but we can guess that ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ will be a huge topic of discussion considering that the movie premiers that same weekend. It’s also been rumored that we’re going to get our first glimpse at ‘Thunderbolts*,’ ‘Wonder Man,’ and a few more sneak peeks into the overall state of ‘Captain America: Brave New World.’

But as always, SDCC is also an opportunity to announce new projects in development. Bob Iger did announce that MCU will be reducing its creative output, still, rumors pointed out that there are still quite a few projects secretly in development, and here’s what we are hoping to see.

1. Scarlet Witch solo movie

Quite a few characters with strong ties to Scarlet Witch are getting their solar projects. We are awaiting the premiere of ‘Agatha All Along,’ some news regarding ‘Vision Quest’ focused on White Vision, and there’s ‘Wonder Man’ live-action project in development.

Taking all that into account, we can’t help but wonder whether all of that is a preamble for Scarlet Witch’s return to the MCU. According to most recent rumors, we can also expect a show focusing on Wiccan, which will reportedly lead into a rumored Scarlet Witch movie that is supposed to focus on the Children’s Crusade storyline. This doesn’t seem so far-fetched now that Joe Locke will debut as Billy Kaplan in the MCU.

2. Midnight Sons movie

We know that ‘Blade’ production is in massive trouble, on the other hand, plenty of rumors surround the reported project focusing on Midnight Sons. A couple of months ago it was reported that Fede Alvarez is being eyed to direct the movie. Midnight Sons would include characters that never appeared in ‘The Avengers,’ and Doctor Strange allegedly would not be a part of the team.

3. Young Avengers movie

A movie focusing on ‘Young Avengers’ hasn’t officially been confirmed by the studio, but the rumors are too numerous to ignore, especially considering how ‘The Marvels’ ended and the fact that a lot of young heroes are being introduced to the universe all the time.

Having an official confirmation of the project and perhaps some teases on what the exact lineup could be would help a lot in generating some hype for this movie.

4. Doctor Strange 3

Considering that we are several projects in the Multiverse saga, Doctor Strange has been oddly absent, and some worrying reports point in the direction of the character taking a backseat to Wong. The rumors claimed that Doctor Strange’s next solo movie is not in development, but we’re still hoping those rumors are wrong, considering that Strange is the key to defeating whoever the next Multiversal villain ends up being (assuming that the studio did not move from Kang as the main villain)

5. World War Hulk

This is the least likely project to be announced I’m aware, it’s also the longest rumored project “to be in development” entering its 10th year at this point, but the heart wants what the heart wants.

The movie likely won’t be revealed, especially taking into account Ruffalo’s recent comments. But Marvel has been setting up a World War Hulk storyline, and now that Red Hulk is confirmed to be in ‘Captain America: Brave New World’…. who knows?
