Here Are 15 MCU Characters That Can Beat Kang the Conqueror

The MCU has struggled to find a permanent and truly powerful villain since Thanos’ death, but the most recent release of ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ introduced a well-known villain from the comics, which promises to replace Thanos. Kang is a time-traveling warlord, mostly relying on the technology that provides him with a plethora of powers related to time manipulation and other various energy-manipulating abilities.
Kang is always able to be a few steps ahead, and it seems like countless versions of him exist all across the Multiverse, making his ultimate defeat even more difficult. However, it’s not like the MCU is without extremely powerful superheroes, so this is why we decided to put together this list of 15 MCU characters that should be able to defeat Kang the Conqueror.
1. Ant-Man
Well, this one is self-explanatory: Ant-Man is due to his size manipulation among the most powerful MCU characters, and while he mostly relies on tech, when in his Giant-Man form, he is truly a devastating force of nature. Ant-Man defeated Kang the Conqueror once already, during the events of his latest solo installment.
He did utilize the help from other members of the Ant-Man Family. However, we won’t forget the fact that Giant-Man was able to raze Kang’s little Quantum Realm empire to the ground in just a few strikes of his mighty arms. In whatever form Kang reappears in the MCU next, we’re sure that Ant-Man will be able to handle it.
2. Adam Warlock
Adam Warlock debuted in the latest ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ movie, and while his powers and intellect were certainly nerfed when compared to his comic book counterpart, time will tell how really powerful Adam Warlock is.
Adam Warlock was pulled from his special cocoon too early. His mother admitted as much, but the fact that he is the greatest specimen of the Sovereign race and one of High Evolutionary’s greatest creations still stands. Warlock already proved his incredible physical powers. Now, it’s likely that we will see him unlock devastating energy manipulation abilities in the following MCU installments.
3. Council of Kangs
Just like with Ant-Man, we know that the Council of Kangs already managed to defeat Kang the Conqueror. So far, we’ve only glimpsed three members of the Council: Centurion, Rama-Tut, and Immortus. We do know, however, that with their combined might, they were already once powerful enough to subdue and banish Kang the Conqueror to the Quantum Realm. Or at least, they were smart enough to do it.
4. Scarlet Witch
Scarlet Withch’s fate in the MCU remains unclear as she seemingly died during the ‘Multiverse of Madness events,’ but nobody believes that she is dead. Before she conveniently “died,” Wanda became exponentially more powerful, and it was only recently revealed that both Kang and Wanda are basically Nexus Beings, a special type of being that can affect probability and alter the course of time.
Due to this, and the rest of her reality-altering powers, Wanda seems like a natural counter for Kang the Conqueror, and the matchup between the two seems to be highly likely, under the condition that she appears in the MCU in future projects.
5. Captain Marvel
Captain Marvel is considered to be a cosmic Avenger and for a good reason. Her powers are the result of Kree DNA and absorbing the incredible might of Power Stone. She has already proved just how much power she packs with her numerous MCU feats.
Still, her powers are subject to change, as the next MCU installment, ‘The Marvels’ will reveal that her powers are somehow connected to Kamala Khan and Monica Rambeau. No matter whether Captain Marvel receives a power-up or not, she will be a decent opponent for Kang the Conqueror.
6. Hulk
Hulk is always on the list, even if his appearance in ‘She-Hulk’ somewhat left us under the impression that Professor Hulk is weaker than the Hulk we are used to seeing, the one that pummeled the Asgardian god to the concrete.
Let’s just hope that Hulk’s impossible durability has stuck around and that he will be able to outlast Kang and just about anybody else in the MCU in a fight.
7. Thor
In ‘Quantumania’ Kang mentioned how he killed an alternate version of Thor, which many fans took as a sign that Kang simply overpowers the God of Thunder. This isn’t even close to being correct, as the current MCU Thor is as powerful as Thor gets and as close to Odin’s powers as he has ever been.
Thor received power-ups in just about every department, which allowed him to defeat Gorr the God Butcher, and match the power of his cursed Necrosword.
8. Doctor Strange
Thor is not the only superhero in the MCU who received a power-up, as Doctor Strange displayed godlike levels of power during his most recent solo movie. Doctor Strange was chasing Wanda across the Multiverse. He was using Darkhold, possessing various variants of himself.
He didn’t exactly prove that he is more powerful than Wanda, but he proved that he has bigger potential and that he is far smarter.
9. Arishem the Judge
Likely, Arishem would never be included in such a fight because he is, let’s make it clear, far more powerful than Kang the Conqueror can handle. Arishem is almost omnipotent.
He is a Celestial with ancient and devastating powers, capable of manipulating cosmic energy on levels we can’t even begin to understand.
He affects gravity, can create life, can utilize powerful telepathy telekinesis, and can construct just about anything. I mean, he did create his own sun. Kang’s technology seems silly when compared to this display of powers.
10. Sersi
Sersi was introduced as one of the Eternals in the movie under the same name, and as fans of the course material know, Eternals are extremely powerful. Over the course of the movie, she shows us her abilities to basically transmute matter, but by the end of the movie, it turns out that Sersi can affect and create life from lifeless rocks by transforming volcanic rocks into a flock of birds. Sersi’s biggest proof of power is the fact that he managed to turn Tiamut into stone.
11. G’iah
This name might surprise you, especially if you haven’t followed the ‘Secret Invasion’ events that showed us the emergence of Super-Skrulls in the MCU. G’iah transformed herself into a Super-Skrull to counter Gravik’s overpowered abilities, and with it, she absorbed DNA from several different Avengers and other creatures from the MCU. G’iah currently has DNA (and with it powers) of at least 20 MCU characters such as Hulk, Korg, Drax, Ghost, Mantis, Captain Marvel, and even Thor.
We still don’t know what kind of direction her character will take, but on whichever side she finds herself on, she will be dangerous.
12. Alioth
Alioth is a trans-temporal entity, and as such, he has powers related to time. Nathaniel Richards, aka He Who Remains, already harnessed its powers once before, and with it, he managed to defeat the rest of his evil variants. In fact, Alioth was crucial in defeating his variants, so it doesn’t seem like such a stretch that the entity would be able to tear down, or at least severely limit, Kang’s time-traveling gimmicks and the main source of his powers.
13. Eternity
Just like with Arishem, it seems unlikely that Eternity would join the fight against Kang the Conqueror due to the overpowered nature of the character, but the fact remains that Eternity would be able to defeat him. It could defeat just about anybody. Eternity exists outside our own Universe. It is a temporal representation of the Universe and has unlimited control of reality.
Eternity is almost omnipotent, almost omniscient, and omnipresent. Eternity would be able to get rid of Kang relatively easily, but considering that the entity did nothing with Thanos, it’s possible that it won’t move a finger to combat Kang either.
14. America Chavez
While Kang has numerous variants of himself scattered across the Multiverse, America Chavez has the source of her powers in a completely opposite phenomenon. Only one America exists in all of the Multiverse, which grants her incredible powers to jump through dimensions and manipulate extra-dimensional energies. She was powerful enough to temporarily stagger Scarlet Witch and knock her through a portal.
She also proved that she could hold her own in a fight against Scarlet Witch’s Chaos Magic. It would be interesting to see America and Kang fight due to their powers basically being opposite.
15. Thena
Thena is, without a doubt, the most capable warrior among the Eternals. Not only is she incredibly strong, fast, and durable, but she has quite a peculiar talent to manifest any weapon she desires out of nothing but cosmic energies. To make matters even better, Thena’s conjured weapons are strong enough to pierce the skin of other Eternals and Deviants, and she is not limited to one type of weapon.
Thena’s powers seem less impressive than what some individuals on this list have, but make no mistake, as a Goddess of War, she is deadly.
