‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ was the second installment in the animated Spider-Verse franchise helmed by Miles Morales, currently the most popular animated Spider-Man in the world. Both movies were a critical and box-office success, so it doesn’t surprise us that the third (and so far last installment) in the franchise is highly anticipated as well.

Back at the premiere of ‘Across the Spider-Verse’ Andrew Garfield, who once served as the primary live-action Spider-Man himself called the movie a masterpiece back at London screening of the movie:

The film did feature live-action roles including Donald Glover as Aaron Davis / Prowler, Peggy Lu as Mrs. Chen, Tobey Maguire, and Andrew Garfield himself as Peter Parker / Spider-Man in archival footage, as well as Cliff Robertson as Ben Parker and Denis Leary as George Stacy. Additionally, archival audio of Alfred Molina’s Otto Octavius / Doctor Octopus is used for a hologram version of the character.

Garfield’s small role in the movie gave the fans hope that he might appear in a bigger role in the upcoming movie as well, something which was rumored ever since the second movie was released. Despite not being the most popular Spider-Man out there, Garfield certainly had a fair number of fans until his tenure with Sony was cut short when MCU rebooted the character. His fame was further cemented based on the general reactions to his cameo roles in both ‘No Way Home’ and ‘Across the Spider-Verse.’

The odds of Garfield having a bigger role in the upcoming sequel are likely if there is room for him. Would you like to see him in the movie? Let us know in the comments below!
