Hiromu Arakawa’s ‘Daemons of the Shadow Realm’ Is a Proper Bestseller

Hiromu Arakawa is best known as the author of the enormously popular Fullmetal Alchemist series, but the mangaka is not retired. In fact, her current manga series, Daemons of the Shadow Realm, is doing great and we are hopeful that this might lead to an anime adaptation.
Daemons of the Shadow Realm began serialization in 2021 and there are nine volumes as of the time of writing, but the manga is certainly going to be there for a while, as the ending is not in sight, and the recent numbers might boost the manga even more!
Based on the information we have, the manga currently has 3.5 million copies in circulation, which is an amazing number for a manga with just nine volumes. Sure, Arakawa’s reputation helped there, but the manga is really great and the fans are quite satisfied.
Arakawa’s specific style is present, and while the manga is not as great as Fullmetal Alchemist, many readers believe that it has the potential to reach a similar level. If you’re wondering what it is about, here is the official synopsis:
In a world where certain humans command mighty supernatural duos called Daemons, it is the birthright of the children who sunder day and night–twins Yuru and Asa–to rule over these powerful entities. Separated from a young age and unaware of the truth of their birth, brother and sister must fight to make their way back to each other, claim their birthright, and save the world…
An anime adaptation is not yet in sight, but we share the belief that an anime adaptation would significantly help the manga, and if the numbers continue to be this great, well… an anime is surely going to be made!
