Hugh Jackman Comments on Daniel Radcliffe as Potential Replacement for Wolverine With an Unexpected Remark: “I didn’t say he’d play it well”

Hugh Jackman has been playing the role of Wolverine for 24 years at this point. The actor first appeared as popular X-Men in ‘X-Men’ released in 2000, and has continually made appearances in the movie franchise for decades.

His character’s sendoff was supposed to be ‘Logan’ released in 2017, the movie sees Wolverine dying and that was seemingly the end for the actor, which he confirmed several times.

When Jackman confirmed that he is returning to the role once more to take part in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ fans were elated. The appearance won’t change the fate of the character in ‘Logan,’ instead we will be watching a Wolverine variant. Feige himself tried to dissuade Jackman from returning to the role, but alas, the story that Reynolds and Jackman pitched was so good, that it did not bring under question the original Wolverine’s character arc.

The question now arises whether Jackman will continue to play Wolverine in the MCU going forward, as numerous projects are planned, especially since the era of mutants begins in the MCU.

Jackman is at this point 55 years old and it’s questionable whether he will be physically able to play the action role 10 years into the future. The question of his successor was raised several times, and one of the most likely names to assume the mantle of Wolverine, at least according to fans, is Daniel Radcliffe.

In his recent interview with LADBible TV, Jackman commented on Radcliffe as a potential replacement. Jackman agreed that Radcliffe could play the role, but he never said that he could play it well:

And of course he could play… the question was could he play it? I didn’t say he’d play it well.

Radcliffe was rumored several months ago to appear in the MCU as yet another Wolverine variant, along with Henry Cavill, and the Harry Potter actor himself commented on the rumors numerous times over the years:

It’s purely a press tour rumor; I say something, and then occasionally I get bored of answering that way so I say something different, and that sets it off again. I should just never open my mouth.
