Martha Stewart unintentionally started Ryan Reynolds’ roast with her recent comments that the actor is not funny in real life. Stewart was recently on the November “Rent Free” game show. On the show, Bilt CEO and founder Ankur Jain asked Stewart to name three celebrities she thought people would find the most fun to hang out with.
She first picked her friend Snoop Dogg, then chose Ryan Reynolds as her second pick—but added why she thinks fans would choose him.
He’s probably on the list just ‘cause he covers himself up in his movies and you don’t see his face.
You want to know something? He’s not so funny in real life. No, he’s not so funny. He’s very serious.

I don’t think anybody expects Reynolds to act like Deadpool all the time, even privately so Stewart most likely didn’t mean for her comment to be perceived as mean. However, the actor proved that he can certainly take a joke at his own expense by answering Stewart’s comments:
I’d disagree with her. But I tried that once. The woman is unexpectedly spry. She really closed the gap after a mile or so.
Reynolds’ ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ co-star Hugh Jackman joined the discussion and started roasting his longtime friend and “co-worker.”
The last celebrity that Bilt members said they’d love to hang out with was Taylor Swift, which didn’t surprise Stewart. She called the ‘Lavender Haze’ singer “just lovely.”
When asked what she thought of the list, Stewart said it mostly made sense, though she would swap out Ryan Reynolds for George Clooney “because he’s funny.”
“He is really nice to hang out with,” she added.
As far as Reynolds and Jackman go, the actor has to be considered at least a bit funny by his peers since he is reportedly being eyed to host the next Oscars Ceremony alongside Hugh Jackman.
