Hugh Jackman Reveals His Insane Eating and Workout Regimen That Resulted in Wild ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ Body

Hugh Jackman recently returned to the role of Wolverine in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine.’ The famous actor has been playing Wolverine for 24 years at this point, and he was ready to retire back in 2017 with his role in ‘Logan’ during which his character died.

The desire to team up with Reynolds’ Deadpool was however stronger, and he decided to return. Now Jackman is 55 years old at this point and fans are worried that he won’t be able to deliver the same performance as he was able to deliver when he was younger.

All fears were dispelled with the release of the movie, as Jackman could be seen sporting an impressive physique. Some recently released photos proved that as well:

Jackman elaborated on his strict eating and training regimen two weeks ago during his interview with Jimmy Fallon.

You eat a lot, it’s 6000 calories. And it’s not the calories you necessarily want. […] You can get 6000 calories like half a pizza is 6000 calories. But no, this is chicken and its tilapia, and beans. Tilapia and beans. I don’t know why Tilapia. It must be some fish that is lean and green beans. […] It’s worth it. And I haven’t told anyone this but, we had the strike, in the middle of it. And at the beginning, of the shooting, there was one particular scene, where I really wanted to focus on how I looked. And Shawn said, “Where do you want to do that scene?” And I said, “Let’s just put it to the end.” And then the strike came and I was like “Oh, why did I say that”

Now it’s clear that the actor hasn’t seen carb in months leading up to the shooting, and I feel for him, I truly do. But it’s not all about food, it’s the biggest part of getting in shape yes but it’s also a lot of workout.

Jackman has been sharing updates on his training for the movie over the past year and a half, using the hashtag #BecomingWolverineAgain to track his progress. He’s also been playfully competing with his co-star Ryan Reynolds in an “arms race” to see who can get in the best shape.

You can see that the actor combined weightlifting exercises and cardio to keep himself in good shape, constantly motivated by his personal trainer. It’s truly impressive what he managed to do.
