Hugh Jackman’s return as Wolverine in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ has thrilled many Marvel fans, and it might just be the start of his comeback. Sources claim Jackman will have a big role in ‘Avengers: Secret Wars,’ with discussions already happening between him and Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige.
Fans are excited to see how Wolverine fits into the Multiverse saga and possibly even beyond it. Recently Daniel Richtman revealed via his paid newsletter that Wolverine might stick around the MCU post-Secret Wars, mostly joining Deadpool on his adventures.
I still hear the plan is for Hugh Jackman to stick around after Secret Wars and do more stuff with Deadpool
Recently Reynolds commented on a potential ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ sequel claiming that the character currently works best as a supporting character so we can assume that the sequel is currently not being developed.
There have been also some rumors in the past claiming that Wolverine as a character won’t be a part of MCU’s new X-Men lineup purely due to Jackman continuing to play the role after ‘Secret Wars.’
Jackman has been portraying Wolverine for 24 years up to this point and as Reynolds joked, Disney is going to make him do it until he is 90. I’m sure that fans won’t mind even if Jackman plays the role past his 90th birthday.
So far pretty much nothing is known about their future in the MCU, but due to the fact that ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ earned over $1B, we can be pretty sure we will see the duo again.
