Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine Will Reportedly Not Be in ‘X-Men’ Reboot & Fans Will Love the Reason

With the release of ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ X-Men and mutants are finally starting to feel like a true part of the MCU. Even though mutants were present in some earlier projects, and Professor X and Beast appeared in ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ and ‘The Marvels’ X-Men were not referenced properly.

Now all of this is bound to change as Feige himself stated, the era of mutants has begun, and we have a live-action reboot coming up focusing on X-Men alone.

Michael Lesslie was hired to pen the script and according to some reports, he’s proposed an ‘X-Men ’97’ lineup of mutants, as we all know that lineup includes Wolverine as well. Now industry insider Daniel Richtman reports that Wolverine will not be included in the movie, and the reason is amazing.

Apparently, Hugh Jackman will continue to play Wolverine after ‘Secret Wars,’ so casting a younger actor in the role is as things currently stand out of the question.

Jackman has been portraying Wolverine for 24 years up to this point and as Reynolds joked, Disney is going to make him do it until he is 90. Wolverine was rumored for months now to have a fairly big role in ‘Secret Wars.’ The movie is rumored to be a soft reboot of the MCU leaving only mutants and Fantastic Four in the current continuity. While these rumors are currently unconfirmed, fans took it as a good sign that Jackman will continue playing Wolverine for years to come, or, until he is physically capable of doing so:
