IMDb’s Most Anticipated Superhero Films of 2025: Superman & MCU Dominate the List

IMDb has unveiled its lists of the most anticipated movies and TV shows for 2025, drawing from data collected from its vast user base. The movie list is packed with franchise films, reboots, and sequels, highlighting what fans are most excited about.

Top films on the list include ‘Superman,’ ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps,’ and ‘How to Train Your Dragon.’ Other highly anticipated titles are ‘Thunderbolts*,’ ‘Captain America: Brave New World,’ and ‘Snow White.’ Additionally, ‘Jurassic World: Rebirth,’ ‘A Minecraft Movie, ‘and the final ‘Mission: Impossible’ movie are also generating buzz. Fans can’t wait for these major releases in 2025.

The list clearly shows that MCU productions are set to dominate the year. While DC’s Superman takes the top spot, other superhero films also captured significant excitement from audiences.

We’re not all that surprised to see ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ on the list along with ‘Fantastic Four: First Steps’ but we are pleased to see an entirely new franchise within the MCU ‘Thunderbolts*’ also sparking a decent amount of interest.
