‘The Marvels’ might have been a cinematic and box office flop, but the movie did set up the foundation for one of Marvel Comics’ most popular team of superheroes – Young Avengers.

At the end of the movie, we see Kamala Khan visiting Kate Bishop inquiring about their potential collaboration and asking about young Cassie Lang, who recently took on a superhero moniker Stature as she helped her father – Ant-Man- defeat Kang the Conqueror in the Quantum Realm.

Back when the movie was released rumors and insider scoops were raving about the potential Young Avengers project in development, and since then we heard nothing about it, and the project was never officially confirmed by the studio.

Luckily, Alex Perez popular insider recently had a Q&A session on Discord and shed some light on the potential future of Young Avengers and some of the team’s most notable members.

Perez was asked what the future holds for the team and – it’s quite frankly something we’ve already known.

He indicated that the Young Avengers will eventually come together, with Kamala Khan taking the lead in recruiting members. Her journey reportedly begins with Kate Bishop and will likely include Cassie Lang next. Kamala’s motivations are tied to Carol Danvers’ mission to rescue Monica Rambeau and unravel the mysteries of her bangle.

Regarding America Chavez, Perez mentioned her potential involvement in the Avengers films, leveraging her universe-hopping abilities. Chavez might play an essential role in opening the gateway to Monica’s current alternate reality, intertwining her story with the larger MCU story arcs.

They’re all going to come together eventually. The current idea seems to be Kamala recruiting the Young Avengers on her own atm, with Cassie Lang on her list after Kate Bishop. If I understand it correctly, her goal aligns with Carol’s in trying to find a way to get Monica back, as well as trying to find out more about her bangle.

America Chavez, as far as I understand it, had a role to play in the Avengers films due to her ability to travel from one universe to another and could tie into this, potentially her being the one that helps open the gateway that leads the Avengers to find Monica in the alternate world she is right now.

Perez also gave his opinion on the team’s potential roster. Some members are already a no-brainer, but besides Bishop, Kamala, Cassie, and obviously Wiccan, Perez gave his opinion on other candidates:

The way it’s being set up? Probably, Kamala Khan, Kate Bishop, Cassie Lang, America Chavez, Billy Kaplan, Tommy Shepard, Teddy Altman & Eli Bradley. Kid Loki’s definitely not going to be in this. Neither is Skaar. I don’t see Ironheart joining the team per se. And I know there were plans for Iron Lad with Nathaniel Richards but I don’t know if those were scrapped after the whole Jonathan Majors situation.

Alex Perez also suggested that a Wiccan series may not be necessary, as Billy and Agatha’s search for Tommy could be resolved quickly, avoiding a storyline that might underserve Billy’s character.

He believes their reunion after reincarnation will likely be spontaneous, as seen before. Regarding Hulkling, Perez confirmed Marvel has plans to introduce Teddy Altman soon and intentionally kept him out of ‘Agatha: All Along.’ This decision reflects Marvel’s larger strategy for Hulkling, possibly linked to ‘Young Avengers’ or a significant future project.
