The Marvel Cinematic Universe is finally introducing Adamantium! This crucial element, significant in Marvel lore, is making its MCU debut not through Wolverine, as many fans anticipated, but through a nearly forgotten character from Eternals.

As confirmed by Captain America: Brave New World, Adamantium will make its first appearance in the film. Thaddeus Ross will explain its introduction and its role in the broader MCU narrative, linking it to the Celestials.

Fans are buzzing about the debut of Adamantium and are sharing intriguing theories online. Recently, our colleague Ross Tanenbaum from ScreenRant published an opinion piece suggesting that the introduction of Adamantium could also impact Star-Lord’s storyline, which is a fascinating possibility.

In his article, Tanenbaum explores the potential impact of Adamantium on the future of the MCU and notes its intriguing introduction not through Wolverine. This choice makes sense, given that Mutants have yet to make a proper debut in the main MCU universe. Additionally, Tanenbaum theorizes that the revelation that Adamantium originates from the Celestials could alter our perception of Peter Quill, a.k.a. Star-Lord.

Specifically, Star-Lord, the son of Ego (played by Kurt Russell), a powerful Celestial who, despite his different appearance, could be a potential source of Adamantium. Tanenbaum speculates that Star-Lord might possess some Adamantium due to his Celestial heritage.

“Ego may not look like his Celestial brethren, but he has many of the same abilities as the others. If the other Celestials are made out of Adamantium, it would make sense that Ego has the same element and transferred it to Peter. Peter did have the same powers as his father for a short while, and those powers may have been amplified by the Adamantium that flowed through him. It would also make him the first Adamantium-enhanced MCU character, well before Wolverine joined the universe.”

Adamantium is set to have a significant impact on the MCU, and it’s likely that nations will vie for control of it, similar to their previous attempts to acquire Vibranium from Wakanda. But what does this mean for Star-Lord?

“For Star-Lord, it’s unclear if he still has any Adamantium. Once the Guardians of the Galaxy killed Ego, it severed Peter’s connection to his father, removing his Celestial powers. Since he is seemingly a regular human now, he may not be comprised of the Adamantium that other Celestials possess. It will be intriguing to see how Captain America: Brave New World establishes this element, and what it means for the MCU’s future.”

Ultimately, this theory is intriguing but may not have significant implications, especially with the MCU moving away from the Guardians of the Galaxy. However, there could still be unexpected developments that might introduce a surprising new powerhouse among the heroes!
