Is Jason Momoa Losing His “Nice Guy” Public Image? Latest Reports and Past Incidents Claim as Much

Jason Momoa rose to global fame in ‘Game of Thrones’ as Khal Drogo, even though the actor took part in several hit series such as ‘Baywatch Hawaii’ and ‘Stargate Atlantis.’ Though his character’s time on the show was short (appearing mostly in the first season), his powerful portrayal of Drogo left a lasting impact and the doors of Hollywood opened.

Besides ‘Game of Thrones,’ Momoa is most famous for starring in ‘Aquaman’ in the ill-fated DCEU, and some recent reports state that he might return as Lobo in the newly formed DCU.

But, while we’re waiting for some kind of news regarding Lobo, Momoa is working on ‘A Minecraft Movie.’ The cast includes Jack Black as Steve, Jason Momoa as Garrett “The Garbage Man” Garrison, Emma Myers as Natalie, Danielle Brooks as Dawn, and Sebastian Eugene Hansen as Henry. Additionally, Jennifer Coolidge, Kate McKinnon, Jemaine Clement, and Matt Berry have been cast in undisclosed roles.

Recently, a popular YouTuber Valkyrae bound to appear in the movie as well stated that she witnessed Momoa mistreating the cast and crew. Valkyrae allegedly witnessed Momoa yelling at crew members on set, which was disappointing.

After a particularly intense scene, Momoa seemed to still be in character and became angry, yelling at the crew for not setting up the shot correctly. Valkyrae felt it created a negative work environment and expressed that they wouldn’t be happy working under those conditions.

This is not the first time Momoa has been accused of treating his co-workers horribly on set. While ‘Aquaman and the Last Kingdom’ was being filmed, Momoa’s co-star Amber Heard accused him of trying to get her fired and coming to set looking like former husband Johnny Depp, wearing the same types of clothes and rings as he used to wear.

Momoa allegedly also showed up drunk on set often.

There was also that comment that the star made regarding his role in ‘Game of Thrones’ – as Khal Drogo. During SDCC Jason Momoa made an inappropriate comment during an interview, joking about his character Khal Drogo committing sexual assault.

He expressed his enjoyment of the sci-fi and fantasy genre, stating that it allows for extreme actions, such as violence and the ability to “rape beautiful women,” which drew criticism for making light of sexual assault.

Jason Momoa profusely apologized but the damage was done. Have something to add? Let us know in the comments below!
