‘The Batman: Part II’ was originally set for release in October 2025. However, due to industry strikes, delays happened, though updates on returning cast and crew were still shared. A few months ago, it was announced that the movie would be delayed a year, with October 2, 2026, being the new release date.

Yesterday, the movie was delayed again by another year, now set for October 1, 2027. That means we will have to wait 2038 days since the first part was released to get the sequel. The reasons for the delay aren’t clear, but both Gunn and Reeves confirmed the script isn’t finished yet.

Gunn went on social media and further addressed the reasons for ‘The Batman 2’ delay:

What’s interesting about this delay is that yesterday, Andy Muschietti also confirmed that ‘Batman: The Brave and the Bold,’ DCU’s version of Batman, is also delayed “a little bit.” He revealed he will work on a new sci-fi movie in the meantime.

Does that mean that Gunn and DC Studios are maybe looking to integrate Pattinson’s Batman as DCU’s Batman? A lot of fans online certainly hope so. And a lot surely doesn’t want that.
