Robert Downey Jr.’s return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe was once the biggest news in entertainment. After a series of disappointing films, MCU fans finally have something exciting to look forward to, as Downey’s comeback as Doctor Doom is sure to shake things up.
The announcement at San Diego Comic-Con was a huge moment, and fans are eager to see how Marvel and Downey handle this new role.

Robert Downey Jr. is best known for playing Iron Man in the MCU, and his heroic sacrifice in Endgame remains one of the franchise’s most iconic moments. While many fans hoped for his return in some form, no one expected him to come back as the villainous Doctor Doom!
This casting decision sparked some controversy, while others are excited about the potential it offers. Since then, many have shared their thoughts on the matter, and recently, we came across this:
James Gunn says it was "a smart move" to cast Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom in the #MCU.

Personally i love Rdj i love doom and i love ironman but casting rdj as doom is the worst decision… its just marvel is so desperate i see that. But hey im going to watch doom anyways

Of course he'd say that. Not like there are tons of other great actors out there who would nail it even more.

Even a kid would know it's smart move

Come on Gunn
gotta think about it from the grand scheme of things. it’s the multiverse. literally anything can be anything. yes it’s obvious that they want to sell tickets but let’s not act like they cant cook here

Marvel just doesn't want to try to do something new, but at the same time they want to make billions like before. That's why this idea was implemented. The multiverse in MCU is just a way to bring back the old actors, but not a tool for telling interesting stories.

Yes, smart to make money. But at the plot level it's so stupid, and dosen't even respect fans, since they are basically saying "Now we have RDJ back you will go back to watch our film". And is feeding a toxic part of MCU's community.

It’s one of the dumbest things I’ve ever seen happen in franchise cinema casting.

When you sacrifice all plot for fame: “i made such a smart move”
