James Gunn Hints at Mysterious New ‘Peacemaker’ Character in Latest Social Media Post!

One significant project that will transition from the DCEU to the newly established DCU is ‘Peacemaker‘. Season 2 of ‘Peacemaker’ was already confirmed to be in development when James Gunn clarified that the show would be canon to the DCU.

He assured fans that the integration would be seamless and not confusing, making the transition from the DCEU to the DCU as smooth as possible for audiences.

Gunn has taken it a step further by connecting the upcoming second season of ‘Peacemaker’ with the highly anticipated animated series ‘Creature Commandos,’ which is set to be released this year in little under two months.

Now as far as ‘Peacemaker’ connections with the DCU go, it’s clear that Gunn is working his hardest to include as many references as possible to it, which is why Hoult’s Luthor is also rumored to appear in the show.

It seems however that Gunn will introduce one entirely new character to the cinematic universe, something he teased himself over the social media:

As you can see the image showcases who appears to be a Native American man staring into the fire. We don’t know who is portraying this character and Gunn did not confirm the character’s identity in the comments.

Still, this doesn’t mean that we can’t speculate. As fans in the comments noted, based on hair it’s possible that this is Savant from ‘Suicide Squad.’ After all, Joel Kinnaman is also rumored to reprise his role as Rick Flag Jr.

Other fans however pointed out (mostly going on by heritage) that it could be Snowflame or Arak.

Snowflame is a drug lord who gains his powers from the consumption of cocaine. His abilities include superhuman strength, speed, and stamina, which are enhanced by the drug.

The more cocaine he consumes, the more powerful he becomes, though this also leads to unstable behavior. Which would be perfect with the theme of ‘Peacemaker’ in general.

Arak, Son of Thunder, is depicted as a Native American warrior and has roots in various indigenous cultures, particularly those of the North American Plains tribes. His character is inspired by the legends and traditions of these cultures.

rak’s adventures often include elements of magic and the supernatural, reflecting the rich mythology of Native American legends. He has been depicted as having connections to various mythological beings and forces.
