The state of the MCU currently is highly exciting. ‘Agatha All Along’ is currently releasing episodes weekly, and we have the first billion-dollar movie in quite some time with ‘Deadpool & Wolverine.
There are loads of projects awaiting us in 2025, 2026, and even 2027, and none are as exciting as the two upcoming ‘Avengers’ movies.
NYCC brought us several exciting news related to the ‘Avengers’ movies. Joe Russo announced in an interview at New York Comic Con that ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ will officially start filming in the spring and has already secured a start date.
The filming is one thing, but the script is another thing entirely. We know nothing about the movie’s plot except for what insiders have shared via leaks and rumors. We can also speculate that ‘Doomsday’ will loosely adapt ‘Time Runs Out’ storyline.
Russos also confirmed that ‘Doomsday’ and ‘Secret Wars’ won’t be filmed back to back.
As far as expected characters to appear, it’s been confirmed before that the movie will star the Fantastic Four and Doctor Strange alongside SOME members of Thunderbolts.
All of these characters have movies coming up, with ‘Doctor Strange 3’ reportedly entering production soon with Raimi set to direct. Russos teased one more great addition to the lineup of teams and characters – Great Lakes Avengers.
The Great Lakes Avengers are a superhero team in Marvel Comics known for their funny and often unconventional approach to heroism. They are a funny take on regular superhero teams. Their stories include silly situations and humor, showing the difficulties of being a lesser-known group of heroes.
The Great Lakes Avengers usually include Mr. Immortal, Big Bertha, Flatman, Doorman, and Squirrel Girl – who is famous for being one of the most powerful Marvel characters.
We can speculate that the team won’t have any significant role and will appear in the movie purely due to the multiversal nature of both movies.
