John Boyega’s Latest Social Media Posts Spark New Speculations Regarding Superhero Movie Roles
While John Boyega has taken on various roles throughout his career, he is best known for his portrayal of Finn in the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy, a role that catapulted him to global fame. However, his relationship with Disney was less than ideal, and he has since made it clear that he has no interest in working with them again.
Although a return to the Star Wars franchise seems highly unlikely, many fans have held out hope for him to join the MCU. Recently, when he was mentioned as a potential replacement for Jonathan Majors as Kang, Boyega explicitly rejected the idea.
Nonetheless, fans remain undeterred. Following a series of recent Instagram posts, they are once again speculating that Boyega may be gearing up for a superhero role, despite the lack of any concrete evidence to support this.
Looking back to 2020, John Boyega made it clear that he would not be returning to the Star Wars franchise:
Like, you guys knew what to do with Daisy Ridley, you knew what to do with Adam Driver. You knew what to do with these other people, but when it came to Kelly Marie Tran, when it came to John Boyega, you know f*ck all.
So what do you want me to say? What they want you to say is, ‘I enjoyed being a part of it. It was a great experience…’ Nah, nah, nah. I’ll take that deal when it’s a great experience. They gave all the nuance to Adam Driver, all the nuance to Daisy Ridley. Let’s be honest. Daisy knows this. Adam knows this. Everybody knows. I’m not exposing anything.

Later, in 2022, Boyega addressed the possibility of joining an MCU film, reinforcing his reluctance to work with Disney:
[Marvel] is not in the vision for me now. I want to do nuanced things…I want to donate my services to original indie films that come with new, fresh ideas, because I know it’s real hard to top ‘Iron Man’ in that universe.”

While this likely squashed any hopes for a proper superhero debut, fans have been examining his latest Instagram photos and videos, reigniting rumors that Boyega may be gearing up for a superhero role once again:
This doesn’t necessarily indicate anything significant; Boyega is likely just focusing on his fitness routine. However, fans are eager to believe he’s preparing for a superhero role, and given his history with Disney, it would probably be something related to the DCU. What could it be? Only time will tell!
