‘Joker 2’ Actor Correctly Predicted That the Movie Will Bomb While He Was on the Set: “It’s the worst film that has ever been made”

‘Joker: Folie à Deux’ premiered to terrible reviews from both critics and audiences. Right now, it has only a 32% approval rating from both groups, marking it as “rotten.”
It also earned a “D” on CinemaScore, the lowest rating yet for a superhero movie—though calling ‘Joker 2’ a superhero movie or even a comic adaptation is a bit of a stretch.
The movie bombed at the box office and bombed once again on PVOD, and quite frankly based on its nightmarish development we could expect nothing more. Lady Gaga was reportedly surprised at this turn of events, but it seems not everyone who was involved with the development of the movie was shocked to see the movie failing.
Tim Dillon had a smaller part in the movie and based on his words, it’s the worst movie he has ever made and the worst thing he was ever a part of.
Dillon is a stand-up comedian and podcast host known for his dark humor and bold, outspoken style. He often talks about politics, pop culture, and conspiracy theories with a mix of sarcasm and satire. Tim’s podcast, ‘The Tim Dillon Show,’ has a big following and has helped him become popular online.
Dillon recently appeared on Joe Rogan Experience and, he really didn’t mind his words:
It’s the worst film that has ever been made. It’s actually not ‘so bad.’ It’s the worst film ever made. I think what happened, after the first ‘Joker,’ there was a lot of talk like, ‘Oh, this was loved by incels.
This was loved by the wrong kinds of people. This sent the wrong kind of message. Male rage! Nihilism!’ All these thinkpieces. And then I think, ‘What if we went the other way,’ and now they have Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga tap dancing, to a point where it’s insane
Dillon is not the first person to come to this conclusion, as plenty of fans theorized that Phillips purposely made the movie bad as a “F*** you” to all the “wrong kinds of bad.” Dillon also revealed that he was aware that the movie would flop while he was on set.
The comedian was apparently confused as to what the plot was supposed to be about and described it as “not even hate-watchable“:
It has no plot. We would sit there, me and these other guys were all dressed in these security outfits because we’re working at the Arkham Asylum, and I would turn to one of them, and we’d hear this crap, and I’d go, ‘What the f*** is this?’
And they’d go, ‘This is going to bomb, man.’ I go, ‘This is the worst thing I’ve ever.’ We were talking about it at lunch, and we’d go, ‘What is the plot? Is there a plot? I don’t know, I think he falls in love with her in the prison?’ It’s not even hate-watchable. That’s how terrible it is

No matter whether you agree with Dillon or not, the box office results speak for itself. ‘Joker 2’ perhaps isn’t the worst movie ever made literally, but it’s certainly one of the worst “superhero” movies ever.
As of November 11, 2024, ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’ has earned $204.7 million worldwide, with $58.2 million from the U.S. and Canada and $146.5 million from other regions. With a break-even point estimated between $375 million and $450 million, the film is projected to lose Warner Bros. between $125–200 million during its theatrical run.
