‘Joker: Folie à Deux’ Ending Leaks Online’ & Fans Are Pissed

We’re just a week away from the release of ‘Joker: Folie à Deux,’ the sequel to the 2019 movie ‘Joker.’ The story takes place two years after the events of the first film, with Joaquin Phoenix returning as the Joker. This time, Lady Gaga joins the cast as Harley Quinn.

The movie technically premiered on September 4 at Venice Film Festive, one month ahead of its theatrical release. The review embargo was lifted relatively soon and pretty much a lot of trades know how the movie ends.

This is what leads us to the latest scandal as the movie’s ending has reportedly been revealed.

According to the leaked ending, Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker will die during the events of the movie, with a massive plot twist at the end that many fans won’t like.

In TV ads for the movie, we see an explosion in the courtroom, but Arthur (Joker) survives. He escapes and meets up with Lee Quinzel, but she breaks up with him after realizing he’s really Arthur, not the Joker.

The police catch Arthur and send him back to Arkham Asylum. There, another inmate offers to tell him a joke, but instead of a punchline, he stabs Arthur in the stomach, leaving him to die while laughing crazily.

The twist is that this inmate, played by Jacob Lofland, gives himself a “Glasgow smile,” like Heath Ledger’s Joker in ‘The Dark Knight.’ The movie ends with a hint that he might be the real Joker.

This ending makes sense if you take into account that Todd Phillips said that Arthur will never become the Clown Prince of Crime in Gotham, that was never in his cards and he was never a criminal mastermind just a deeply disturbed person.

The second clue that leads us to believe this ending is true is the report from The Hollywood Reporter that Jacob Lofland has been cast in the role of Arkham Asylum inmate.
