Bright Future Is in Plans for Kamala Khan as She Is Being Touted as “Peter Parker of This Generation”

Kamala Khan’s existence both on the comic pages and in the MCU has been turbulent in recent times. The character died and has been resurrected, this time a mutant. A decision that’s been criticized by the fans of the comics beacuse it was perceived as comics adapting the MCU instead of vice-versa.

Now X-Men have a new series in place and Kamala Khan is set to take over the spotlight. ‘NYX’ is a new mutant-focused series that recently debuted, penned by Jackson Lanzing and Collin Kelly, with art by Francesco Mortarino.

With Xavier’s school and Krakoa gone, mutants are set to flood New York City, whether the city is ready or not. The new ongoing series ‘NYX,’ follows a group of former X-Men students as they navigate young adulthood, discrimination, and threats that aim to worsen human-mutant relations.

Mirroring the groundbreaking original series from the 2000s, ‘NYX’ confronts the harsh realities faced by mutants, who are now without the guidance of the X-Men or the protection of Krakoa. The series will showcase iconic and fan-favorite mutants adapting to a world rife with bigotry and mistrust, as they strive to evolve despite internal disagreements and the struggle to move on from Krakoa.

Talking about his latest series during this year’s SDCC Lanzing said that Kamala Khan is this generation’s Peter Parker, and we can’t help but agree with him:

Kamala has a bright future ahead of her in the MCU as well, she is set to star in several upcoming projects like ‘Marvel Zombies’ and naturally, an initiative that she herself started on the big screen ‘The Younger Avengers.’

The fact that the era of mutants begins in the MCU also gives credence to Lanzing’s statement, considering that Ms. Marvel was one of the first confirmed mutants in the MCU she will definitely be the biggest association with the characters going forward.
