‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ is shaping up to be Disney’s biggest hit this summer, as the movie is seeing incredible commercial and critical success. Much of that is owed to the fact that the movie featured plenty of legacy characters and some new additions to the MCU.

Fans were overjoyed to see Dafne Keen return as X-23, Snipes as Blade, Garner as Elektra, and Evans as Human Torch. The movie also delivered in one more aspect, it gave Channing Tatum the opportunity to play Gambit, a role that he wanted for almost a decade.

Keen recently sat down with Phase Zero and revealed some details regarding her character. ‘The Acolyte’ actress shared that her character is the same one that people saw in ‘Logan’ released in 17, but she’s not a variant. She also shared how exciting it was to be back on the set of the superhero movie and that she would love to reprise her role if she ever gets a chance.

Keen also jokingly revealed how annoyed she was with Channing Tatum on the set beacuse the actor “kept yapping.” The interviewer asked Keen about one specific line from the movie that Tatum’s Gambit says “wooimbouttamakeanameformyselfere!” Keen admitted that Gambit’s dialogue made it hard for her on the set:

Brandon, I had to tell him that on my shot, he couldn’t say his lines. […] I kept breaking character. Beacuse I’d be doing like brooding Wolverine vibe, I was like, “yeah, let’s fu**** go” and then he’d be like: “Yeah, he was layin’ them buttery nuts all up in my mama.” Like, “no, shut up, I’m trying to do my job over here, you’re making it so hard.” […] Even the like, formation, when he’s like “I’m about to make a name for myself,” I was like “no.” I was cool and calm and collected and this guy is just like, yapping, in my ear.

If you still have not watched the movie, what everyone is referencing is Tatum’s Cajun accent, something which Gambit’s character is always associated with. According to some fans, the accent was brilliant and according to some, it was cringy at best.

In any case, Tatum and Keen sound like they have quite the chemistry on set and we would definitely love to see them collaborate again in the MCU!
