New Reports State That Knull Is Bound to Be the Main Villain of ‘Spider-Man 4’

Recently, the final trailer for ‘Venom: The Last Dance’ was revealed. Fans are now even more hyped for the October release considering that the trailer teased a first look at who appears to be Knull – the King in Black.

You might know Knull as one of the most powerful and most terrifying villains in Marvel Comics, and now he is coming to the big screen.

Naturally, fans had a lot of mixed reactions to the revealed, mostly due to Sony’s poor track record when it comes to SSU and depicting Marvel characters correctly on screen. The logic behind it is that you need more build-up before you introduce a villain such a Knull. Yes, the Hive has been referenced in prior ‘Venom’ installments but not a single mention of Knull was made, ever.

Second, Knull is simply too powerful to be a villain of a single movie and to be disposed of quickly by Venom, or even an entire Hive of powerful Symbioties. He is a multiversal-level threat whose power rivals that of Thanos, and remember that Thanos had an entire Saga focusing on him. This means that the character will either be nerfed, or ‘The Last Dance’ is not “one and done” for Knull, and We’re hoping it’s the latter.

Most recent reports definitely lean toward Knull being “here to stay.” Alex Perez of Cosmic Circus, a credible and accurate source of rumors in the past, recently put together a post detailing what he knows about Knull and his connection to the MCU.

In April 2024, Perez discovered and confirmed rumors about Knull appearing in ‘Venom: The Last Dance.’But, like the majority of fans, he was concerned about how the character might be portrayed, fearing he might be limited compared to his comic book counterpart. However, Perez was able to confirm that Knull’s role extends beyond this film. There are plans to feature him in another upcoming project.

Marvel Studios initially planned a street-level Spider-Man film featuring Daredevil and various villains, but this storyline has been delayed, and the movie is now apparently focusing on a large-scale multiversal event.

Recent reports suggest that Tom Holland’s Spider-Man might team up with Tom Hardy’s Venom in the upcoming film, with ‘Venom: The Last Dance’ potentially setting up this crossover, while Knull is rumored to be the villain aiming to envelop the multiverse in darkness, partly driven by the presence of the Venom symbiote across different universes.

We previously covered a theory on how ‘The Last Dance’ could already be connected to ‘Spider-Man 4.’
