With the release of ‘Venom: The Last Dance’ Knull – the King in Black is being finally introduced to live-action. Kelly Marcel, the movie’s writer, and director stated that Knull is not supposed to be the main villain of ‘Venom 3’ but rather just a tease of what’s to come in the future for the character.

Ever since Knull was teased in the upcoming movie’s trailer, industry insiders claimed that Knull will play a massive role in the future of the MCU, to be more specific, in the upcoming ‘Spider-Man 4’ flick.

According to various reports The King in Black is supposed to be the main villain of the upcoming Spider-Man flick, and tear down the fabric of the Multiverse – it seems plausible enough, especially taking into account that Knull is a multiversal villain in nature

But, what if Knull is not really setting up ‘Spider-Man 4’ but rather the rumored ‘Sinister Six’ movie? Sony initially planned a film based on the Sinister Six in their own ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ shared universe in December 2013, with Drew Goddard attached to write and direct.

Although believed to have been canceled by November 2015, the project was revived in December 2018 after the success of ‘Venom,’ and producer Amy Pascal expressed the intention to move forward once Goddard was ready to direct.

The plans fell through however and nothing was heard about the project, until a few days ago. According to the latest reports Sony is still working on the movie and it makes perfect sense that they do….considering that we have most of the members already in the universe – well, to be more specific we will have them once ‘Kraven the Hunter’ releases.

Electro, Kraven the Hunter, Mysterio, Sandman, and Vulture are the core members of the team, however, Sinister Six has more incarnations than we bother to remember and several of them include Morbius.

Morbius and Vulture have already met in that confusing and seemingly nonsensical post-credit scene. If Vulture managed to crossover, this means that Mysterio and Electro can cross over as well.

‘Kraven the Hunter’ will naturally introduce Kraven the Hunter, but the movie’s director teased Rhino and plenty of other Marvel characters.

It’s possible that the villains will have to team up in order to take down Knull, and eventually all of them will crossover to the MCU. It seems like a wasted opportunity for SSU to introduce Knull only to hand him over to the MCU immediately when they can easily build up a solid franchise of movies around him alone – under the assumption that the movies are good.

What do you think? Should Knull fight Sinister Six in the SSU? Let us know in the comments below!
