In less than a week, SSU will have the privilege and honor of debuting Knull – the King in Black, one of Marvel’s most powerful and intriguing villains. Considering that he is a relatively new character in Marvel comics, he is generating significant amounts of hype ahead of the movie’s release.

We already know that we should temper our expectations, considering that the ‘Venom: The Last Dance’ director says that this is just the beginning for Knull, we’re still eager to get every glimpse of the character. However, judging by promo materials so far his role will indeed be limited to a few scenes.

Now it seems that Knull will rely heavily on CGI but someone still has to provide the voice. The recently released promo revealed that the voice in question will be none other than Andy Serkis. No official confirmation has been made but the voice belongs to Serkis so that’s as good as official confirmation.

Serkis was rumored to portray Knull back when the character was confirmed to be in the movie, so this isn’t that much of a surprise.

Andy Serkis is renowned for his groundbreaking motion capture performances, notably as Gollum in ‘The Lord of the Rings’ trilogy and Caesar in ‘The Planet of the Apes’ trilogy. His other significant roles include King Kong in ‘King Kong’ (2005), Ulysses Klaue in ‘Black Panther’ (2018), and Supreme Leader Snoke in ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ (2015).

As you can see based on his CV Serkis was always a natural fit for the role. The fans reacted overwhelmingly positively to the reveal:
