‘Kraven the Hunter’ is bound to be released this year as a part of Sony’s Spider-Man Universe. Following the majestic failure that ‘Madame Web’ was the expectations for that movie were not high.
The story will follow one of Spider-Man’s most notable villains – Kraven the Hunter. Not much is known about the plot of the movie overall but there have been some hints that it might adapt the Kraven’s Last Hunt storyline.
During this year’s NYCC director J.C. Chandor, the movie’s director showcased the movie and teased plenty of exciting things for the fans to see, including a brutal storyline and “many Marvel characters.”
“We built some set pieces and some action pieces that I’m super proud of…it’s not just Kraven. We’ve got the opportunity to really dive into the Marvel characters here.
Chandor presented the film’s opening to the audience, featuring a scene where Kraven participates in a human hunt inside a prison. An attendee described the sequence as “grounded, violent, charismatic,” highlighting the use of Russian dialogue and guards who are depicted as having poor aim.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson was also present at the presentation, he described Kraven as an “apex predator”:
He’s an apex predator, the top of the food chain. Kraven’s a hunter, not a poacher. Like every hunter knows, sometimes you have to cull the herd to preserve order. Of course, when he starts applying that to human beings, it becomes a pretty dark story.

A second clip showcased several brutal kills, featuring methods like a bear trap, axe, and tree stump. Afterward, Taylor-Johnson posed for photos with director Chandor and several cosplayers dressed as Kraven the Hunter.
