Do you recall Disney’s Descendants series? These live-action films explore familiar Disney animated characters in a new universe, focusing on their descendants. Despite not being actively promoted by Disney, the series remains popular and thriving. The fourth installment, Descendants: The Rise of Red, will premiere on July 12, 2024, on Disney+ and on August 9, 2024, on Disney Channel.
Our colleagues from the Agents of Fandom portal, particularly TJ Zwarych, recently interviewed the lead stars of the movie, Kylie Cantrall and Malia Baker. They discussed their characters and shared intriguing details about their roles, as well as their personal aspirations.
In the movie, Kylie Cantrall takes on the role of Red, the daughter of the Queen of Hearts. While discussing her character Red, she also shared her aspirations for the future. Based on our conversation, it seems Kylie Cantrall has her sights set on potentially joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the future!
TJ Zwarych interviewed the two actresses, and although the interview was brief, they shared intriguing details about the upcoming movie and discussed their aspirations for future collaborations with Disney. One question asked if they were interested in roles within the Star Wars or MCU franchises. Here’s Kylie Cantrall’s response:
There are a growing number of people who have played roles throughout different, uh… Disney properties, like Marvel, like Star Wars, most notably Ming-Na Wen. She’s Mulan, Disney princess, and then she also went into the Marvel Universe, Star Wars universe… Are either of you fans of those universes, and would you kind of want to follow along in that path as well?
Ah, that’s my dream. To like, star in a Marvel film. Oh God, I mean, hey – the… the Red training will come in handy if I need to do a little parkour. I got that on lock. Call me. Yeah, call me up, you got my number.
