Leslye Headland So Far Heard “Nothing” Regarding ‘The Acolyte’ Season 2 But Claims That’s Not a Bad Thing: “You have to take a break”

Last week the final episode of ‘Star Wars: The Acolyte’ was released, concluding the storylines and teasing a bright future for the show through two massive cameos.

Headland already discussed potential season 2 of the show and revealed despite she used everything in season 1, she does have plans for continuation and hopes that the show will get at least three or four seasons.

A few weeks ago, Headland revealed that there are conversations regarding the potential second season, but it was too early to make a decision. Now in her most recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, the showrunner revealed that she heard nothing so far about whether she will get to continue Mae’s and Osha’s story, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing:

You have to take a break. Especially after something like this. I don’t even know how many years my brain has been going, Star Wars, Star Wars, Star Wars, Acolyte, Acolyte, Acolyte — just constantly solving problems, constantly thinking about it. It is very weird to now be in a place where I don’t need to do that. I always say to budding writers, ‘The most important thing that you can do is sit around and do nothing. Because the second you start to manufacture a story, you’re going to get stressed out, and the story can’t start that way.

Despite taking a break from writing and enjoying her downtime, Headland is still deeply engrossed in the storyline and thinks of ways to continue it:

My brain is still doing it,” she says, laughing. “It’s almost like if you’re running, you can’t just stop, can’t shut off.

Headland teased that both Plagueis and Yoda would definitely have bigger roles in season 2, but so far it seems unlikely that ‘The Acolyte’ will get to that stage. The show is most often being compared to ‘Andor.’ Both ‘The Acolyte’ and ‘Andor’ had high production costs compared to low viewership with one significant difference, ‘Andor’ was a critical hit, often being lauded as one of the best Star Wars shows, while ‘The Acolyte’ failed in that aspect.

What do you think? Would you like to see season 2 of ‘The Acolyte’?
